Braids, locs & extensions

Before you book a protective style

Your own hair needs to be long enough for the style to hold without damage. If you are not sure your hair is long enough, or you would like a colour we may not have in stock, message us before booking — we are happy to check your photos.

Preparation

Getting ready for your appointment

Braids, cornrows & crochet

  • Come with hair washed, fully dried and detangled — no heavy oil or gel.
  • Remove existing braids or extensions beforehand. Removal at the salon adds time and a fee.
  • Bringing your own hair? Tell us the brand and number of packs when you book.
  • Long appointments: feel free to bring snacks, a drink and something to watch.

Dreadlocks

  • New locs need enough length (see the table above). We recommend a photo check first.
  • Wash the day before and dry completely. Skip conditioner so the locs grip.
  • For maintenance, tell us how long since your last retwist and roughly how many locs.

Extensions

  • Send photos first so we can match your length and colour.
  • Colours outside our regular stock can take 1–2 weeks to order.

Colour, perms & straightening

  • Tell us about any previous reaction to hair dye or a sensitive scalp. We may recommend a patch test.
  • Let us know your recent chemical history (bleach, straightening, perms).
Cancellation policy

Changes & cancellations

Long appointments block out most of a stylist's day, and same-day cancellations cannot be filled by another client. Thank you for respecting this policy.
